It’s October, for Indigenous Americans it’s not our favorite month with Columbus Day and Halloween featuring those lovely pochahottie costumes it can be kind of a downer. Well Halloween I never let myself down and I have advice on how to beat those Pochahottie blues.
If you wear a stupid Indian/slutty Indian costume I am going to laugh at you, not with you, AT you. Because no matter what you do with that chicken feather headdress you still look like a God damn idiot. Nothing is going to change the fact that you paid well over $100 for some poorly put together Native American costume with a chicken feather headdress, that to me in itself is just funny. I mean I’ve seen so many hipster people wear headdresses and take photos and they look super serious but really it’s just fucking dumb and I laugh every time I see it. It tells me, first off, that you’re ignorant and can’t read a book saying exactly what a headdress is and what it means and it also tells me that you don’t exactly care what others think but you are still a SUPER self conscious troll that just wants attention, I mean why else would you take super fancy photos of you with your chicken feathers?
So I suggest to anyone Indigenous, if you see someone wearing a costume like that for Halloween don’t get mad, laugh at their dumb ass. Ask them how much they paid for the skimpy attire and laugh at them again because the price is always ridiculous. Make jokes about them in your Native language in front of them and make it SUPER obvious. I know it might be hard but stupid racists thrive off of anger, they WANT you to get angry at their dumb costume but if you laugh at it it stripes away that power and it might possibly get them to think for once.
Post some really cool stuff you’ve made and you get 1 or 2 likes or reposts.
